Step into the Douro this spring and summer and book a visit to Gricha Vineyard House, the exclusive four-bedroom retreat on Churchill’s legendary 50-hectare vineyard at Quinta da Gricha in the Douro Valley, Portugal.
A visit to Gricha Vineyard House offers guests a unique insight into life on a working Douro winery. Experience the gentle pace of life amongst the vines and learn about viticulture and winemaking in the world’s oldest demarcated region on a personalised tour and wine tasting. Enjoy Churchill’s award-winning wines while relaxing by the infinity pool or gazing out at the breath-taking valley and Douro River from the panoramic vined-terraces.
Continue your wine adventure with a visit to Churchill’s Lodge in the historic city of Porto. Nestled into a narrow side street of the ancient customs zone of Vila Nova da Gaia, tucked away from the bustle of the Gaia promenade, you’ll find Churchill’s — a working port lodge and visitor’s centre showcasing world class port and table wines. On the tour, guests will experience the buzz and tranquility of the lodge and get lost in thought amidst the rows of aging barrels in the cavernous vintage tawny storage house.
After an introduction to port and the Douro Valley, visitors will learn the port aging process – from large vat Reserve and LBV tanks to private vintage cellar. The tour will end with a port tasting in Churchill’s modern tasting room overlooking the Douro River.
